Brian Austin Green is sharing the reality of getting older.
On Saturday (August 29) episode of the iHeartRadio’s I Do, Part 2 podcast, the 53-year-old Beverly Hills, 90210 actor spoke candidly about how his sex drive has declined as he’s gotten older.
“‘As men age, do you notice that your sex drive is lowering?’ Sure, absolutely, of course,” Brian said as he responded to a question from a listener. “That is a chemical thing. That is testosterone. That is what men, as they age, start naturally losing.”
Although he suggested that some men can take supplements in order to “go in the opposite direction,” Brian answered the listener’s question with his honest opinion.
“To me, honestly, absolutely. Sex drive lowers,” he admitted. “There’s no way to avoid that. I didn’t ask for it.”
Fellow guest co-host Bob Guiney, 55, related to Brian‘s experience given his age-gap marriage to Jessica Canyon, 42.
“I am married to someone younger,” the Bachelor alum shared. “Part of me making sure that I am there for her in the ways that she needs me to be as well, you can’t just sit on the couch all the time and expect to be the guy that’s ready to go.”
This new chapter of Brian‘s sex life also has a positive side, he realized, when considering how the emotional connection now plays a larger role in getting physical with fiancée Sharna Burgess.
“It’s not just the physical act the same way,” he noted. “There’s emotion to it too.”
Brian also discussed the importance of honesty in his relationship with the 41-year-old Dancing with the Stars pro, with whom he shares 4-year-old son Zane.
“My fiancée now is…we started very early with that understanding of we’ll talk about everything,” Brian explained. “So there is no unknown if she’s feeling a certain way or I’m feeling a certain way.”
During another episode of I Do, Part 2, which was released in July, Brian admitted that he led with “physical attraction” his marriage to now-ex-wife Megan Fox.
