Robbie Williams has sarcastically apologised to spilling a mint during a live TV interview.

The chart-topping singer has laughed off online speculation about his sobriety, after a white substance was seen falling from his mouth during an interview with MagentaTV at the World Cup final in New Jersey.
Robbie, 52 – who performed the World Cup anthem Desire with Nicole Scherzinger and Laura Pausini during the closing ceremony – said on Instagram: “Just like to apologise for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday.
“I was deeply unprofessional, and people are worried about me, but it’s okay ‘cause I have several more.”
Robbie – who has previously been open about his sobriety journey – captioned the post: “Just woke up and feeling…. Mint [smiling emoji] x (sic)”
During the interview, Robbie’s mint dropped onto the microphone he was holding in his hand. The pop star then picked up the mint and stuck it to his forehead.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, Robbie opened up about his sobriety journey, revealing that he hasn’t drunk in 25 years.
Speaking to the Spanish newspaper El País, Robbie explained: “I haven’t drunk in 25 years. That part isn’t difficult for me. The difficult part is dealing with life as it is. But now I trust myself.
“I don’t think that because I have a day of anxiety I’ll go out and do cocaine and relapse. I’ll simply sit with it and live with it. I know myself and trust myself more than before.”
Robbie also conceded that substance abuse remains one of his biggest career regrets.
The pop star – who first found fame as a member of Take That, the chart-topping boy band – shared: “I probably wouldn’t have started drinking or done drugs. But then again, I’m all of these things because I did. I don’t know, if I had a time machine, that I would change anything. I just wouldn’t be as affected by mentally ill grown ups.”
