Ella Langley returned to the stage after a last minute cancelation this weekend.
The 27-year-old “Choosin’ Texas” singer was set to perform at BOK Center on Friday (October 9) in Tulsa, Okla., but canceled the show hours before it was supposed to start due to a “serious security threat.”
Capt. Richard Meulenberg from the Tulsa Police Department later spoke to reporters outside of the venue, giving insight into their investigation and saying no credible threat was found.
The following night (October 10), Ella hit the stage for a scheduled concert in Lubbock, Tex., and addressed her canceled show the night before.

“When it comes to keeping you safe and making sure that this show is a safe place for us to come and enjoy our music, then it will happen — but the second it feels like it will not, I’m not doing it,” she told the crowd, via social media posts. “I’m not doing it, because a concert’s not worth a human life. It’s not.”
“I would have made yesterday’s decision 10 billion times over — and I’d do it tomorrow and I’d do it the next day because, while I’m grateful to get to do what I do, it’s not the most important thing in this life,” Ella continued. “What’s the most important thing in this life is the people around that love you and are there for you no matter what. The most important thing in this life is making sure you wake up every day and feel like, ‘You know what? I’m good today and I’m so grateful to have woken up today.’”
The singer then noted how she thought about canceling the Texas show too, but “felt this calling and this tug in my chest” that said, “It’s okay, we’re safe and we can do this show.” She said this was because of her relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ella told the audience on Saturday that she didn’t want to “live in fear” and continue on with her tour.
“We are going to put on music and get to do this for the rest of our lives,” she said. “I know that because this is my calling. This is the thing that I was called to do, and I’m gonna continue doing it — and nobody is gonna talk me out of it [or] scare me out of it. No, you will not!”
She thanked the crowd for showing up after “yesterday was scary.”
“It was scary for all of us, but we’re just so grateful to be playing this show tonight … and we will never take this for granted. We love it, we love what we do [and] I wouldn’t trade it for the world. This is my favorite thing to do in my life.”
