There’s a theory floating around the internet that Karlie Kloss staged a paparazzi photo shoot outside of her New York City home on the night of Taylor Swift‘s wedding and that she didn’t actually attend… but that’s not true.
The 33-year-old model was photographed in a car that was spotted leaving Madison Square Garden in the early morning hours of Saturday (July 4) in New York City.
Karlie indeed attended Taylor‘s wedding, despite years of speculation that they had a falling out.
As guests were heading to Madison Square Garden on Friday, Karlie was seen leaving her home in a gold Tove dress alongside husband Joshua Kushner.
While it seemed obvious to most that Karlie was on her way to the wedding, some conspiracy theorists believed that she called paparazzi to take photos of her to make it look like she was attending.
Taylor‘s friendship with Karlie began in 2012 after she mentioned the model in her Vogue cover story and how she wants to bake cookies with her. Karlie responded to the mention in a tweet and they seemingly struck up a real-life friendship.
The singer and model being pals led to them appearing together on the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show multiple times. They became inseparable for years and eventually were on a joint Vogue cover together in 2015.
There were rumors of a falling out in 2018, but in a profile that year, Karlie told The New York Times, “Don’t believe everything you read.” Rumors continued in 2019 when Karlie had Scooter Braun at her wedding, around the same time that he purchased Taylor‘s master recordings.
In the years since, fans have speculated that Taylor wrote music about a falling out with Karlie, but nothing has ever been confirmed.
Karlie attended the Eras Tour in 2023, but sat in regular seats instead of the VIP tent. She liked Taylor‘s engagement post in August 2025, seemingly signaling good will between them.
