Bella Ramsey has booked a new TV role!
The 21-year-old Emmy-nominated star, best known for playing Ellie on The Last of Us, has signed on to star opposite Daisy Haggard in the new Channel 4 thriller series Maya.
Along with starring in the series, Daisy, 47, also serves as creator, writer, and director.
Keep reading to find out more…In the series, Bella will play Maya, “the teenage daughter of Anna (Haggard). The pair leave their lives in London and are forced into a witness protection program with new identities in a small rural Scottish town. The trauma of their past continues to haunt them as the attempt to settle into a new life, with two hitmen intent on tracking them down,” according to Deadline.
Production for the six-part series is set to take place later this year entirely in Scotland.
“This story and these characters Daisy has created are so alive, nuanced, wickedly funny and scarily dark,” Bella shared in a statement. “Every character jumps off the page, the dialogue is incredibly witty and I’m so excited to get to play Maya opposite Daisy’s Anna.”
