Charlie Sheen and real-life dad Martin Sheen are going to be working together on a new comedy series for AMC and AMC+.
The real father-son duo will play father and son on the upcoming show Happy Jack, which will be the network’s first-ever multi-camera show. For those who don’t know, multi-cams are usually shot in front of a live studio audience and have multiple cameras set up to capture everything, instead of using one camera with multiple takes.
Happy Jack will begin production in early 2027 on the Warner Bros. lot in Los Angeles.
What is Happy Jack about?
Deadline reports the show stars “Charlie Sheen as Jack, a bit of a lifelong ne’er-do-well. He’s got two great daughters, although his Dad, played by Martin Sheen, deserves more credit for how they turned out. Kate runs Jack’s company and keeps him on the rails while Sam is a wild child who is more like her Dad. When Sam comes home to introduce everyone to her new boyfriend, Jack’s shocked to learn Paul, a former investment banker turned van life guru, is the same age as he is. Shocked at first, Jack soon realizes he’s got a choice to make. Will he keep looking out for number one, or embrace this last chance to be a real part of his daughters’ lives?”
Jim Patterson and Matt Ross, who both worked on Two and a Half Men, will write the show and serve as co-showrunners.

Charlie and Martin previously worked together in movies like 1987’s Wall Street, 1990’s Cadence, and 1998’s No Code of Conduct, as well as the TV show Anger Management from 2012 to 2014.
Martin also guest-starred on Charlie‘s shows Spin City and Two and a Half Men.
