OK! Magazine claims they have an “insider” that reveals Sydney Sweeney is in the running to play Britney Spears in her upcoming biopic.
“Sydney has become one of the names generating the strongest interest. There is no final decision, but she has the profile, range and familiarity with Britney’s image that make her an obvious person for the filmmakers to consider. Millie has also been very open about how much the role would mean to her, while Addison [Rae], Bailee [Madison] and Kylie [Schultz] remain part of the wider conversation,” claims an “exclusive Hollywood” source.
Jon M. Chu is still attached to direct and New Girl creator Liz Meriwether is currently writing the screenplay. Chu already stated a few days ago that he isn’t thinking of who to cast until a script is locked.
