Alan Ritchson is opening up about what fans can expect from future seasons of Reacher.
The 43-year-old actor, who stars as Jack Reacher in the hit Prime Video series, revealed that he has been pushing for the show to get more intense when it comes to its action scenes.
In a new interview with Collider, Alan admitted that he thinks the show has actually become a little too tame.
Why Does Alan Ritchson Want Reacher to Change?
“I had a lot of conversations with Amazon and my producing partners and writers about how I want to continue pushing how aggressive some of these interactions can be on the show. It’s gotten a little tame, in my opinion,” Alan said while discussing Season 4.
“I want to continue to push stuff for that hyper-real, hyper-violent experience,” he added.
Alan Ritchson Teases What to Expect From Reacher Season 5
Alan also teased what fans can expect from Season 5, saying it will feel familiar to longtime viewers and readers of the books.
“It’s a super tight season, and it feels very true to some of the more classic Reacher seasons that we’ve seen on screen and read in the books,” he said.
Alan Ritchson Reveals the Studio Restriction That Frustrated Him
Elsewhere in the interview, Alan opened up about a moment involving Season 4 villain Lila Hoth (Agnez Mo) that frustrated him.
“I got really upset. I was like, ‘Why isn’t Reacher fighting back?’ And they said, ‘The studio says you’re not allowed to hit a girl.’ But this is the villain,” he recalled.
“I don’t think it matters to him whether you’re a man or a woman – if you’re committing a crime or hurting somebody, Reacher is going to step in and do something about it,” Alan added.
Maria Sten Talks Reacher and Neagley’s Relationship
Meanwhile, Maria Sten, who stars as Frances Neagley, also spoke about the relationship between her character and Reacher as she prepares to lead the Neagley spinoff.
“Neagley is the little sister of Reacher in a way, and we want it to feel like a family, but I also think Neagley’s different,” Maria said.
She added, “Reacher is a silverback gorilla, and Neagley is a mountain lion.”
“If anyone is going to show up for her, even though she doesn’t expect it, it’s him,” she said.
