Pitbull is honoring Dolly Parton in concert.
If you didn’t know, the two came together a few years ago on the song “Powerful Women,” featuring a sample of her classic track “9 to 5,” as well as new lyrics from the late music icon.
During his show on Tuesday night (August 25) at Northwell at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York, the 45-year-old entertainer emotionally shouted out the music icon, who passed away earlier that day.
“Tonight we celebrate Dolly Parton…the living legend, or should I say the legend that lives forever. We love you, Dolly,” he captioned the video.
We’re having a great time and then we’re losing our minds, but there’s someone that was very special to me and showed me love and believed in me when a lot of folks did it and gave me an opportunity. And her name is Dolly Parton. She lived an amazing life. A hardworking woman, intelligent, sophisticated, funny, powerful, intimidating, but more than anything a good human being with a good heart. And she showed me a whole lot of love. So to all the crowds, this is dedicated to y’all, but more than anything to the legend that will live forever, Dolly Parton. – Pitbull
