Wladimir Klitschko is paying tribute to late ex Hayden Panettiere on what would have been her 37th birthday.
If you didn’t see the sad news, the Bring It On: All of Nothing actress died on Sunday, August 16 at the young age of 36 after going into cardiac arrest in an apartment in South Carolina.
Five days later on Friday (August 21), the 50-year-old Ukrainian former pro boxer took to Instagram to honor Hayden on her birthday.
“Today is Hayden’s birthday. Instead of celebrating the way we had planned, today we celebrate her life, her spirit, and the love she brought into this world,” Wladimir began. “I want to thank all of Hayden’s fans, friends, and everyone who has reached out for the incredible outpouring of love and support. At a time filled with so much sadness, your kindness has reminded me that there is still so much good in humanity.”
“If you’re reading this, I ask just one thing: even if only for a moment, think about LOVE,” he continued. “Reach out to a friend. Forgive someone. Be kind. Love is a superpower. Use it.”
“Happy Birthday, Hayden,” Wladimir concluded his message. “You are loved, you are missed, and you will never be forgotten.”

Wladimir and Hayden met in 2009, and were together for two years before split. The couple reunited in 2013, and got engaged.
The following year, it was announced that Hayden was pregnant with their daughter. In December 2014, Hayden gave birth to their daughter, Kaya, who was born at 7 lbs., 14 oz., and measured 20 inches.
Following the birth of Kaya, Hayden struggled with postpartum depression, which she has been open about.
Hayden and Wladimir broke up in 2019 after nine years together, and they continued to co-parent Kaya. However, amid Hayden‘s struggles, it was revealed the following year that Kaya was living in Ukraine with her father.
Earlier this week, Wladimir released a statement reacting to news of Hayden‘s passing, and revealed the promise he made to their 11-year-old daughter.
