Taylor Swift performed for an exclusive audience this week in Los Angeles and new details about the secret event are emerging!
The newly married music superstar, 36, was part of a special event at the Grammy Museum in L.A.
The event, titled The Icon Sessions with Taylor Swift: A 20-Year Retrospective, was held exclusively for the Recording Academy Songwriters & Composers Wing. All guests were invited and it appears that no tickets were sold.

What we know about the event so far…
Music producer and songwriter Larry Dvoskin has revealed a recap of the event, which was held on Tuesday, August 18. The event featured a Q&A and a performance of a few songs.
Taylor was interviewed by Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. for the event, which was held for about 100 people. The organizers didn’t even fill up all of the seats in the theater!
“Taylor came onstage and shared her beautiful stories of how she writes songs and where she gets her endless inspiration from. Then she played a few tunes for the 100 or so people there. It wasn’t even sold out, there were empty seats,” Dvoskin wrote on Facebook.

Some tidbits that Taylor Swift told the crowd
Dvoskin revealed some of the interesting tidbits that Taylor revealed during the event.
“Enthusiasm can protect you from anything,” Taylor told the audience. She also said that “yes and” is an important idea for her when she’s writing and recording, to make sure she’s open to exploring.
Taylor makes sure to show up for work, even if she doesn’t feel inspired. She says her “Idea Fairy” will show up when she does.
Taylor also said that she performs a spinet piano when she’s on tour so she can see over the top and have a view of the crowd.

Taylor Swift greeted all of the guests personally
After the event, Taylor met with all of the guests personally.
Dvoskin said that while chatting with the singer, “she was in no hurry to move me along. There were several dozen songwriters behind us waiting to chat so I said goodbye first. That is how good Taylor Swift is in her quality of presence. A true star shines light upon us, we leave feeling brighter.”

Why did she hold the event?
Well, Grammy nominations are going to be announced soon and Taylor is eligible in many categories this year. The songwriters who are in the Recording Academy are likely people who are either involved in determining nominations of voting on the winners.
