The Oscar-winning actress shared pictures from her birthday getaway in Fiji with her 56-year-old musician partner, posing in a sheer lace-trimmed robe while enjoying chocolate-covered strawberries and drinks.
Halle, who turned 60 on Friday (14.08.26), has been documenting the tropical trip on Instagram after traveling to the island with Van and spending part of the vacation with her children.
Alongside the photographs, Halle wrote: “Today… I don’t give a f***!”
The images showed Halle relaxing in the sunshine and sharing an affectionate moment with Van, with her engagement ring also visible.
She later posted another message thanking followers for their birthday wishes and expressing her gratitude at reaching the milestone.
The birthday celebrations follow Halle’s confirmation earlier this year she and Van are engaged after previously giving conflicting signals about whether she had accepted his proposal.
Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in February, Halle addressed reports she had rejected Van’s proposal.
She said: “Well, there’s some confusion that he asked to marry me, and I said no. No, that’s not the case. I did not say no. We just don’t have a date.”
Halle added: “But of course I said I would marry him! He did put a little ring on it.”
The actress and Van have been together since 2020, having developed their relationship through conversations during the Covid-19 pandemic before meeting in person.
Van proposed in 2025, although the couple have said they are in no rush to arrange their wedding.
Halle previously explained that neither of them believed marriage was required to validate their relationship.
She said: “I don’t think we need to be married to have a meaningful relationship. I don’t know if we will ever get married.”
Halle added: “Well, I’ve been married three times. Van has been married once, and so no, we don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way.
“We don’t, I think we will get married just because, out of the people I’ve been married to, this is the person I should have married.”
The milestone birthday comes during another busy period in Halle’s film career.
She recently starred alongside Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo in Crime 101, the Los Angeles-set crime thriller written and directed by Bart Layton and adapted from the novella by Don Winslow.
Halle plays insurance broker Sharon Combs, whose life becomes entangled with a jewel thief played by Chris as he prepares for a major heist.
The film was released theatrically in February before arriving on Prime Video in April.
The role added to a career that has included X-Men, Die Another Day, Swordfish and Catwoman.
Halle remains particularly associated with Monster’s Ball, for which she won the Academy Award for best actress, becoming the first Black woman to win the category.
Her performance as Jinx opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day also produced one of her most recognisable screen roles, while she played mutant superhero Storm across four X-Men films.
Halle’s 60th birthday celebrations have unfolded across several social media posts from Fiji.
Earlier in the trip she shared photographs wearing a black swimsuit and sheer beachwear, while another set of images showed her in a plunging black dress as she approached the milestone.
The actress has also spoken recently about ageing and her approach to health as she entered her 60s, while continuing to work on upcoming projects including the Paris-set film Fleur and thriller Red Card.
Halle shares daughter Nahla, 18, with former partner Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo-Robert, 12, with former husband Olivier Martinez.
Both children joined her for part of her birthday celebrations in Fiji before the trip continued with Van.
