Leon Brown, the former Sister Wives star and child of Kody Brown and ex-wife Meri Brown, is speaking out about their childhood and what it was like being on the TLC reality show as a kid.
Leon, who is now 31 years old, uploaded a video to TikTok on Tuesday (August 4) to share their experience, recalling how their family consisted of “four parents and two older siblings” when they first moved to Wyoming. Leon was 3 when they relocated and they remained there until they turned 10.

“We were in a cult then,” Leon said in the TikTok, noting that there weren’t many other kids their age around them.
“I was really shy and really fearful as a child, so I didn’t really know people outside of the cult,” Leon continued. “We were homeschooled until we moved to Utah when I was 10. And then we started going to the same church, a cult church, in Utah. At that point, it got a little bit more all-encompassing.”
Their days were organized around “church school,” which took place on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. They went to “primary on Thursdays, and Leon described it as “religious indoctrination for children.”
On going to church school and learning about religion
Leon shared that they loved primary school and loved “learning about Jesus” and “church history.”
“I think there’s some religious scrupulosity there. It was rewarding, and I was rewarded for it. So I’m not actually sure if I like it or not. Who’s to say?” they continued before concluding, “This is weird because I don’t talk about this a lot.”
Leon also said the video was the first of several in the caption, adding, “This story will take many forms and be in many parts, but here’s a start. Thanks for listening & being respectful.”
Kody Brown’s ex-wife Christine Brown Woolley previously said she believed she had raised her children in a cult
Christine Brown Woolley, who had six kids with ex-husband Kody, wrote that she believed she “grew up in a cult,” and raised her children in a cult in her 2025 memoir Sister Wife: A Memoir of Faith, Family, and Finding Freedom.
“Even before I believed we were in a cult, some of my kids figured it out as young adults. I had taught them not to live in fear,” Christine wrote.
Christine also made another shocking revelation about her relationship with Cody last year.
