Sophie Nélisse, best known for Yellowjackets and Heated Rivalry, will star in Netflix’s series adaptation of Carley Fortune’s novel This Summer Will Be Different. The logline describes it as “a simmering, sun-soaked romance set across multiple summers on Prince Edward Island about Lucy, a young woman navigating her 20s and her first real love with her best friend’s brother, the one person she was never supposed to fall for.”
Production will begin in Toronto and on Prince Edward Island later this summer. Married directing and writing duo Dane Clark and Linsey Stewart act as the show’s creators and showrunners.
