Nikki Bella was invited to audition for Baywatch – but withdrew because she didn’t feel “comfortable” with the role.

The 42-year-old star was offered an audition for a role on the Baywatch reboot, before withdrawing from the process because she didn’t feel comfortable wearing a swimsuit on screen.
Nikki – who rose to worldwide fame as a wrestler with the WWE – told The Nikki and Brie Show podcast: “I had an audition for Baywatch.
“I ended up not doing it. Because I knew that I would not be comfortable wearing—if I was to get it—I would not be comfortable wearing a red swimsuit 24/7.”
Nikki – who has Matteo, five, with ex-husband Artem Chigvintsev – admitted that body insecurities prompted her to withdraw from the process.
Nikki said: “I am not confident yet in a swimsuit, so I didn’t do it. What I’ve learned is I have to put myself in positions of, like, where I feel most confident.”
Nikki still feels most confident when she is in her wrestling gear, heading to the ring.
She said: “When I’m walking down that ramp, and I’m in my Nikki Bella gear, I am so confident.”
The WWE star has developed such a strong sense of self-belief in the ring, meaning she’s able to brush off comments from online trolls.
Nikki said: “They can say all they want. The comment didn’t even affect me because I felt so damn good.
“So, I just think you have to get to that place, where you just are like, ‘This is me. This is my beauty.'”
Meanwhile, Nikki previously admitted to loving the challenges of motherhood.
Nikki – who was married to dancer Artem Chigvintsev between 2022 and 2024 – told E! News in 2023: “You go from teething to then just getting him in preschool and dealing with sickness, and there’s always something. And Matteo also had a speech delay, so just even dealing with that and doing therapy—so toddler stage has definitely rocked me.”
Despite this, Nikki relished the toddler experience.
She said: “I will say that I wish I could freeze this age because seeing him have his own personality but also having him be all about mommy—and daddy too, but really a lot about mommy—I just want to freeze it, and I want to keep him like this forever.”
