Best of the Best was co-written by Hasan Minhaj and Prashanth Venkataramanujam (co-creater and head writer for the Patriot Act), and follows “two childhood best friends, Maya and Anjali, who join their college’s competitive Bollywood dance team only to discover that the road to winning the national championship is far more raucous and cutthroat than they ever imagined.” Angali has yet to be casted
Lena Kahn will direct, she previously directed episodes of Never Have I Ever. They will film in New Jersey this summer. Maitreyi says her character is Tamil of Sri Lankan origin.
