A: Proud, eternally grateful, emotional, bittersweet.But very proud and very grateful mostly.
Q: Which advice would Ari from the Positions era give to Ari from the Yours Truly era?
A: Positions Ari would tell Yours Truly Ari “stay present and don’t be affraid to say no when you are running on emptyand they’re sending you around, don’t be affraid to say no. When you need rest, when you need time, there’s a kind way to say ‘I’m tired’. ” I would say that to both Yours Truly Ari and My Everything Ari. I would want Yours Truly Ari to say to Positions Ari “Don’t let go of me, don’t let them make you apologetic or wanna shrink yourself. You know what you’re doing. And don’t listen to anybody that you don’t trust or respect or know who doesn’t love you. Yours Truly Ari would tell Positions Ari “Say no and go to sleep. Take a goddamn nap.”
Q: What was your favorite memory from the studio when recording the album?
A: My favorite memory or memories, I’ll say from recording the album would be the people. The people that I got to build lifelong relationships with. I still work with so many of the people that I made this album with. Meeting Tommy and Victoria through this was life changing for me. Those are collaborators who I would be absolutely nothing without and who I’m so grateful for every single day. Leon Thomas from The Rascals, who I was also simultaneously shooting a TV show with during the day. We were doing both at the same time. Um, so getting to share that with him.
Q: What’s your favorite non-single off the album?
A: My favorite non-single off the album would probably be either Daydreamin or You Will Never Know. That is not true! Honeymoon Avenue is my favorite non-single off the album for sure.
