- Apes are still #2 at 26m$ (101m$ total), with IF at #1 with around 35$m. Better than The Fall Guy. Even the one-two punch of Middle America and Ryan Reynolds didn’t get anyone to care.
- And “IF” you seek “Back To Black“, Amy is …. somewhere down there with 2.2m
- The Strangers are #3, whoever they are.
- Speaking of Fall Guy, rumor has it it will be on PVOD this Tuesday, making it the third Universal movie to open under 50$m to be shoved into the basement less than a month after release.
- Speaking of Universal, Monkey Man closed its US theatrical run with around 25$m. The only Universal movie I can see that opened over 50$m domestically in 2024 is Kung Fu Panda 4, and even then that was still on PVOD 30 days later.
- Undoubtedly, Wicked, which has a new trailer out, will be the 3rd, after Despicable Me 4, but you came to read the box office, not my thoughts about Universal.
Next week is finally Furiosa, Garfield, and Sight.
