A follow up to this post.
Bloody Disgusting made some corrections since the last post: It’s actually Malek Akkad’s Trancas International Films that is shopping the rights to Halloween. While Miramax co-owns the film rights, Trancas is the sole owner of all television rights.
The massive bidding war going on right now is for television rights.
A24 and Miramax are the top bidders for the Halloween franchise, with A24 leading.
A24 previously won the rights to produce a “Friday the 13th” television series for Peacock, it’s called “Crystal Lake.”
Despite current bidding going on for television rights at the moment, ultimately it will be up to Trancas to decide if Myers heads to television or back to the big screen.
Miramax would be a participant in any film deal, since as previously mentioned, they co-own film rights to all sequels.
