The trailer for the upcoming Australian documentary Silenced has been released.
Directed by Selina Miles, the film follows international human rights lawyer Jennifer Robinson and examines how defamation laws can be used to silence survivors of gender-based violence. The documentary features interviews with Amber Heard and also explores high-profile cases involving Harvey Weinstein and Johnny Depp, alongside several other women from around the world who say they faced legal retaliation after speaking out. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January and opened the Sydney Film Festival in June. No release date for the U.S. is set, but it is scheduled for a general release in Australia in September.
