Danny Dyer is stepping up his anti-sewage dumping campaign

The Rivals star attended the Stop The Sewage rally in Kent, England last month and The Sun newspaper reports Danny is now planning to step up the campaign against illegal dumping by UK water companies by leading a protest on London’s river which will culminate with him delivering a petition of more than 3150,000 signatures to UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham at Downing Street.

A source told the publication’s Bizarre column: “Danny feels incredibly passionate about this issue. He’s had enough. To make a point, he will be leading a flotilla of boats up the Thames to parliament.

“They’ll dock at Westminster pier and will walk to No10 to deliver their petition.”

The Sun reports Danny gave a speech at the Kent rally in September in which he vowed to make “a lot more noise” in a bid to have the issues taken seriously by politicians.

He reportedly said: “Me being off piste is very f****** dangerous. The elites are taking the f****** p*** out of us. For so many different reasons.

“We have got to stick together, we’ve got to make the change … Our water bills, we’re paying them more just to pump the s*** into the sea.

“There’s more billionaires in the world than there has ever been and then there’s more poverty. I’m going to try and make a lot more noise.”

Danny previously revealed he tested the water in the sea close to the caravan park in Essex he runs and found the sample contained “four times” the expected levels of E-Coli bacteria with the actor calling it a “disgrace”.

He added: “It’s a very very dangerous thing. Our children should be allowed to get in the sea and we should be able to get in the sea.”

Ed Acteson, co-founder of SOS Whitstable and creator of the petition, previously said of the campaign: “The public has had enough of being asked to accept polluted waterways, failing infrastructure and rising bills while shareholders and senior executives continue to be rewarded.

“We want an industry run in the interests of people and the environment, with its income reinvested in the system rather than extracted from it.”
