Jill Biden is sharing more candid thoughts about life after the White House.
The 75-year-old former First Lady appeared on the final part of Jamie Kern Lima‘s four-part interview on The Jamie Kern Lima Show, which debuted on Wednesday (September 16).
During the conversation, Jill shared her thoughts on Melania Trump, whether there should be an age limit for elected officials and when she thinks the United States will elect its first woman president.
She also commented for the first time on the release of audio recordings from former President Joe Biden‘s conversations with his biographer, which included discussions of classified material.

On the release of Joe Biden’s conversations with his biographer:
“They were personal conversations, and I don’t think they should’ve been released.”
On whether there should be an age limit for elected officials:
“Probably.”
On what she thinks the age limit should be:
“Uh, I don’t know. I never thought about it. It has to be somewhere in the ’80s, I guess.”
On whether she believes U.S. elections are fair:
“I hope they are because I can’t give up on our country as what I believed our country to be. I am a proud American, as I think most Americans are, and so you have to believe that your vote matters and that whether you mail in your vote or go to the voting place, it’s just like…you kinda can’t even go there in your head. Like, this is all rigged. But then you see things and you think, you do question.”
“Right? We do question, like, how did this happen? How did it happen? I mean, just all the states that were blue states. I don’t have any answers for that.”
On describing Melania Trump as “frosty” and what she would say if they got together:
“I probably wouldn’t get personal. I think I would just ask the sorts of things she was working on and what was important to her.”
On how she reacts to seeing President Donald Trump:
“I always say the opposite of love is not hate, which you might think it might be. It’s indifference and if you can get yourself to the place of indifference, then you’ve won the battle.”
“I have tried very hard…hate is so negative. It is. It eats at you, and it’s time-consuming, and it’s toxic. If I can say, if I can think, I can get through this. It’s gonna be over. It’s not forever, and I am not gonna let this one person ruin the joy in my life…then I feel like I have it conquered.”
On whether she tells Joe Biden who she votes for:
“I never, ever tell anybody who I voted for.”
“Even Joe, and even if he asked me, I won’t tell him. So he never knows whether I voted for him or not.”
On the possibility of Donald Trump serving a third term:
“Trump? No. He…no. I mean, isn’t it in the Constitution?”
(The Constitution’s 22nd Amendment says that no person can be elected president more than twice.)
On JD Vance or Marco Rubio:
“I have no thoughts. Nope. Because I’m not gonna be voting for them anyway, so.”
On when she thinks the United States will elect a woman president:
“Not in my lifetime. And I’m 75. So, you know, that doesn’t, I don’t know how that looks for the next hopefully 15, 20 years.”
She also opened up about what she asked God to do.
