Six Of Crows is a popular Young Adult book series and was a Netflix show (Shadow and Bone)
The characters in it were explicitly teenagers, them being so young was relevant to their stories
Tumblr user alwaysalreadyangry noticed that the latest edition of the books had quite the rewrites no one elese seems to have noticed so far
All references of the Crow’s ages have been removed
“The boy looked up,” is now “The young man looked up,
“How old are you, Mister Brekker? Seventeen.” is now How old are you, Mister Brekker? Why does it matter.”
Alwaysalreadyangry can’t compare the books sentence by sentence but they think whole paragraphes have been rewitten, for the worst. They especially think Matthias’ pov sounds very different now.
Neither Leigh Bardugo or her publisher have publicly talked about this rewrite
