The Bachelor star Grant Ellis revealed which of the women from his season should be considered for the next Bachelorette lead role.
“All the women in this season were amazing. Alexe [Godin], Chloie [Costello], Bailey [Taylor Brown], Allyshia [Gupta] — they were all wonderful,” Grant, 31, told Us Weekly in an interview published on Tuesday, February 25. “They all had outgoing personalities.”
Grant then reflected on the fan love for Chloie, 28, who many believe was sent home too early during week 2 of season 29. “Chloie got a lot of love and I think it’s really important to show that diversity,” he told the outlet. “Chloie was somebody who had one of the best personalities and had the best outlook on life that I had seen in a while.”
The day trader also shared his reaction to the upcoming season of The Bachelorette being put on pause. On February 7, multiple outlets reported that The Bachelorette would not air during its typical time slot in the spring. However, host Jesse Palmer has insisted that season 22 will still happen.
“The good news is I know it’s not going away. I know it’s definitely coming back,” Jesse, 46, said about the show’s future while appearing on the “Playing the Field” podcast on February 11. “Without being able to get into too much of the creative decisions on it, I know that when it does, I just think it’s going to be absolutely tremendous.”
While he said he couldn’t get “too far in depth with a lot of the creative decisions that went into” the hiatus, Jesse pointed out that “it’s not unprecedented for The Bachelorette not to air in the summer.”
“It’s disheartening, but if it’s happening, there’s a reason for it,” Grant said of the decision to put the upcoming Bachelorette season on hold. “And I’m sure that whoever’s making these decisions definitely has a greater good in mind.”
Fans are currently watching Grant pursue many relationships in hopes of finding his future wife. While he has not revealed who gets his final rose, he told Us Weekly that he “definitely” fell for many of the women.
“And at the end, making the decision that was best for me was something I really had to consider,” he teased about the final rose ceremony.
Not only was Grant concerned about choosing the right partner for himself, but he also said he worried about giving false hope to the other women on the show. “It’s very hard in this role when you develop feelings and then tell people how you feel. You’re honest and sincere, and you try not to hold back — because that’s the way you find your person — but it’s easy to be villainized because you don’t want to lead anybody on,” the TV personality said. “A man dating multiple women is already at a disadvantage. You just have to be careful and see where the cards fall.”
Grant added that his “plan” going into the show was to “lead with my heart.” He continued, “I know I’m a pretty sound thinker and I use logic, but emotions are a different thing.”
