Jelly Roll has reached a divorce settlement with his estranged wife Bunnie Xo, bringing a swift end to legal proceedings just months after the couple announced the breakdown of their marriage

Court documents obtained by TMZ show the former couple have agreed to keep many of the details confidential, while dividing their assets and including a provision preventing either of them from publicly criticising the other.

Jelly, whose real name is Jason DeFord, 40, filed for divorce from Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa DeFord, 45, in Williamson County, Tennessee, in May, citing “irreconcilable differences”.

The pair, who married in 2016 and renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2023, had become one of country music’s most recognisable couples through their openness about addiction, recovery and fertility struggles.

The settlement comes as Jelly continues his Little A** Shed Tour following the success of his country crossover career, which has included Grammy nominations and chart-topping releases after first building a following through Southern hip-hop.

The singer has also remained in the spotlight for his dramatic health transformation, revealing he has lost close to 300lbs, while continuing to speak publicly about his Christian faith and his criminal past. Bunnie, meanwhile, has continued hosting her Dumb Blonde Podcast and recently revealed she had been accepted into Arizona State University.

According to TMZ, the settlement includes a confidentiality clause preventing either party from “trash-talking” the other.

The outlet also reported Bunnie will receive a one-time lump-sum payment from Jelly, while the former couple will divide assets including an aircraft, vehicles, homes and various intellectual property.

As previously reported by Page Six, Jelly filed for divorce on 18 May, stating in court papers that he and Bunnie were “unable to live together successfully as husband and wife” and listing 9 May as the date of separation.

The filing also stated the couple had “accumulated certain real and personal property, and incurred certain marital debts” during their marriage, while noting they anticipated signing a Marital Dissolution Agreement governing the division of assets and debts.

Shortly after news of the divorce became public, moving trucks were photographed outside the couple’s home in Franklin, Tennessee.

Three days later, Bunnie addressed the split during a now-deleted episode of her Dumb Blonde Podcast.

She said: “My husband and I are ending this marriage on the best possible terms that you could ever have a divorce.

“We’re literally settling our divorce in, like, what? We’ve done it in three weeks? Two weeks?”

Bunnie also claimed that Jelly would continue “taking care of” her financially and allow her to remain in their “dream” home in Franklin.

Discussing what led to the separation, she said she and Jelly “have never really been good at having disagreements” and claimed their final argument came on Mother’s Day.

Bunnie said she had encouraged Jelly to “file the f****** divorce papers”, adding she had been “speaking out of anger and frustration” and had not genuinely wanted the marriage to end.

She also said the couple’s IVF journey had “wrecked” them both physically and emotionally, while revealing they were “still having a baby together”.

Addressing speculation surrounding the split, Bunnie said “nobody cheated on the other person”, although she acknowledged that infidelity had occurred early in their marriage before Jelly became sober.

Later that evening, Jelly addressed the divorce from the stage during a performance in Saratoga Springs, New York.

He echoed Bunnie’s account, telling the audience that “nobody cheated on nobody” and describing her as his “best friend” for life.

Although the divorce surprised many fans, the pair had fuelled speculation in the weeks beforehand. Jelly had stopped wearing his wedding ring and removed photographs of Bunnie from Instagram, while Bunnie shared a series of social media posts referencing “trash” exes, “women’s intuition when that s*** don’t add up” and “getting her sparkle back”.

In recent weeks, Bunnie has also been photographed with Calabasas Confidential personality Dylan Wolf, 24, at Jelly’s Nashville bar.

She later said Jelly had “no issue at all” with the relationship. Bunnie has also spoken publicly about undergoing breast implant revision surgery and losing 20 pounds because of malnutrition.

Jelly has frequently credited Bunnie with transforming his life after they met in 2015, saying she supported him through sobriety and the early stages of his music career.

He is also the father of daughter Bailee Ann, 17, and son Noah Buddy, eight, from previous relationships.
