They go way back. Shawn Mendes has sparked dating rumors after being photographed several times with Dr. Jocelyne Miranda since late 2022, but their relationship goes way back.
The “Lost in Japan” singer has known the chiropractor, who is 26 years his senior, since at least 2018. After working with celebs like Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Kendall Jenner and more. Miranda added Mendes to her client list. He started making appearances on her Instagram feed in spring and summer 2018, when he was linked to another one of Miranda’s patients, Hailey Bieber (née Baldwin). The specialist continued to work with both the musician and the model long after their split. She has even gone on tour with Mendes.
Miranda treats athletes and singers often. “She works to identify and correct Kinetic Chain Dysfunctions in order to improve Movement and Mechanics on High Performance Athletes. Her work on Diaphragm and Breathing Techniques for Singers/Performers is nonparallel,” her website notes.
The chiropractor is often spotted going running and hiking with Mendes, which has fueled the dating rumors. The pair have also been spotted enjoying lunch and shopping together.
Mendes hasn’t been in a confirmed relationship since his split from Camila Cabello. He started dating the “Havana” songstress in July 2019, and the duo announced their split in November 2021.
“Hey guys, we’ve decided to end our romantic relationship but our love for one another as humans is stronger than ever,” the exes wrote in a joint statement, which was shared on their respective Instagram Stories at the time. “We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends. We so appreciate your support from the beginning and moving forward. Camila and Shawn.”
An insider exclusively told Us Weekly at the time that Cabello and Mendes “still have a ton of love and respect for each other” despite their split.
“At this point they’ve decided they need a break from each other to evaluate where each of them are at. They’re not saying never, just not now,” the source told Us. “It does hurt, but they’re both certain this is for the best. Otherwise they wouldn’t have done it.”
Though the “Stitches” singer hasn’t had any high-profile relationships since his split from the former Fifth Harmony artist, he recently spoke out about romance rumors regarding him and Sabrina Carpenter. He and the “Nonsense” performer were pictured spending time together in Los Angeles in February 2023, but Mendes denied the speculation in an interview weeks later.
“We are not dating,” Mendes told the Dutch TV program RTL Boulevard in March 2023 while promoting his partnership with Tommy Hilfiger. “But I think we should talk about Tommy Hilfiger probably more than Sabrina. Thank you.”
