Ice Spice is opening up in a new interview about some incredibly insensitive comments during a podcast Matty Healy.
The 24-year-old “Gimmie A Light” rapper is on the cover of Rolling Stone‘s new September 2024 issue and she was asked about the comments the 35-year-old The 1975 musician said.
If you recall, he appeared on a podcast earlier this year where the hosts said things like calling her a “chubby Chinese lady” and that she sounds like an “Inuit Space Girl,” while he laughed along as they mocked Chinese and Hawaiian accents.

“I actually was late as f–k to that,” she told the mag. “I didn’t know about it until like a month after or something like that.”
“He apologized multiple times, but I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was to other people,” she added. “I feel like people just wanted something to be mad about, I guess. I wasn’t angry or sad or anything. I was just kind of confused. I never really cared about that.”
Ice Spice even said she still listens to The 1975‘s music as she is a “huge fan.”
Previously, she has also said he’s apologized and even saw him in person where he checked in on her and made sure she was okay.
