Collider has made a post of the top 10 most intense thrillers ever written; to no ones surprise, Stephen King appears not once but twice on a list which also includes House of Leaves (#2), and Franz Kafka’s The Trial (#3).
Misery is the 1987 book written by King, following an author who gets into a car crash and is “rescued” by his number one fan. Things go very, very badly for him from that point on.
King has said that the book is a metaphor for his own battles with drug addiction, although Rob Reiner has said that it was also inspired by a nurse who took out her Munchausen by proxy on patients.
whats your favorite thriller ontd? and which is worse, the ax or the hammer?
