Nicolas Cage has revealed he likely won’t ever work with Amazon or Prime Video again.

The 62-year-old actor recently starred in the one-season series Spider-Noir, which debuted on Prime Video earlier this year.

Unfortunately, the streamer canceled the show after one season, which won five Emmy awards. See how Nicolas reacted.

Nicolas Cage reveals he doesn’t want to work with Amazon because of AI

While speaking on stage at a New York Comic Con panel, Nicolas said the company’s embracement of AI is the reason why he wouldn’t want to work them again.

“Amazon is a very AI-friendly company, to the tune of $50 billion invested in OpenAI,” he shared, via Variety. “I am not an AI-friendly actor, so it’s like, connect those dots! I’m not a member of their club. I didn’t sign the waiver to let him use AI on Spider-Noir. I’m probably not going to be working with that studio again, but that’s okay.”

However, he does hope to work with rising Gen Z filmmakers, like Backrooms‘ Kane Parsons.

“I got to get with these young directors who are Gen Z, and they’re going at it their own way, whether it’s through the YouTube culture or whatever it is,” he said. “They’re doing it from scratch and by hand. I want to get with that.”

Nicolas also said he’s interested in doing more television, where he then revealed he’ll be starring in the next season of True Detective!
