Hannah Waddingham has insisted she’s “happy” with what she did on her show Ride or Die, following the news of its cancellation.
Hannah Waddingham ‘happy’ with Ride or Die performance
The Ted Lasso actress starred in the Prime Video series alongside Octavia Spencer but, despite the positive reaction from viewers, it was axed after just one season.
Hannah didn’t take the news well, sharing a snap of herself in floods of tears on her social media pages, and told Entertainment Tonight she has “no idea” whether or not the programme will find a new home on a different network.
She also said: “I’m happy with what I did on it, to be honest. It was, you know, doing like 85, 90% of your own stunts – it’s gonna make a girl a little tired.
“But I’m very happy with the project.”
The interviewer went on to ask Hannah if she had any “battle scars” from the programme, to which the 52-year-old actress said that the gold dress she was sporting for The Albies awards ceremony was actually one she’d designed herself to wear on Ride or Die.
She explained: “I thought I’d give her another outing because I like to reuse. I designed it myself and I made sure that I could wear it for several shoot days and be stabbed in it.
“This was the other one. The other one, the main one, was… it had a big red stab mark. I thought, you know what? The show’s gone… the dress remains!”
A clip of the Entertainment Tonight interview was shared on Instagram, with people using the comments section to beg for a second series of Ride or Die.
One wrote: “It was outstanding and NEEDS a new home! Incomprehensible that a show so enjoyed and buzzed about… and watched by so many… would get canned.”
Another added: “Great series!! Needs a new home ASAP.”
As a third commented: “Omg no … can not believe there is not going to be another season of Ride or Die – it was brilliant!”
