Congratulations are in order for Simu Liu!
On Monday (October 5), it was announced that the 37-year-old Avengers: Doomsday actor married longtime love Allison Hsu.
Simu and Allison got married over the weekend in France, sources told TMZ.
Simu and Allison have been together since 2022
Simu and Allison first started dating in late 2022 and they made their red carpet debut at the premiere of Violent Night in December 2022.
The Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings actor proposed to Allison in May 2025 while on vacation in Paris.
Allison works in the music industry
Allison began working at Interscope Records in 2017 as an intern while attending UCLA. She has worked her way up in the company and in 2023, she was promoted to digital marketing director.
In 2022, she was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list in music in 2022.
“It’s still surreal to me that I get to wake up every day and do what I love at a company as innovative and trailblazing as @interscope and work alongside so many amazing people that inspire me to be the best version of myself possible,” Allison wrote on Instagram at the time. “I’m honored to be recognized as a young Asian-American woman in this industry that I only dreamt of being apart of as a little girl & music superfan growing up in Pennsylvania.”
She added, “To work with artists and teammates every day who are equal parts kind, passionate and brilliant is something I will never take for granted. And thank you thank you thank you to my family, friends and mentors that have encouraged me and believed in me since day 1. I couldn’t do anything without you.”
Taylor Swift played a part in their engagement!
Allison is a huge fan of Taylor Swift, so Simu enlisted the superstar to help with his engagement.
“My fiancée works in music, she’s a digital marketing executive, and she grew up a Swiftie. She loves Taylor Swift,” Simu previously shared on The Tonight Show. “Taylor Swift‘s songs and her music, that was a big part even in the beginning of our relationship, was getting to know [my fiancée] through those songs and why they meant so much to her.”
“So I was like, well, if there’s one person that would make this engagement so special, and I reached out, as if we’re BFFs. No, I mean, I met her a couple times, she’s fantastic, but I reached out to Taylor through her publicist, and I said, ‘Hey, is there any way that I could convince you to make a two second video just to say congrats?’” Simu continued. “And she literally, two days later, sent it over and I was able to play it for her, and so, Taylor Swift was the cherry on top!”
“She is just so nice and so sweet,” he added of Taylor.
