They got to her y’all, they got Kelly Clarkson. “It’s controversial, I don’t care. I love AI,” Clarkson admitted while on the Las Culturistas podcast with hosts Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers.

“There’s very amazing things with AI that I’m obsessed with it. But also, I’m very into it artistically, too. I have fun with it just like everybody else does,” Clarkson continued.

“But when you see AI artists competing on a chart with humans, I have an issue,” Clarkson clarified. “I think there should be a separate chart. I think it’s welcome. I think it’s welcome to the table. I think it’s really cool and creative what we’re going to create with AI, musically. People that maybe can’t do certain things will be able to do it now.”

“I think it’s a fun field to play in, but I don’t think that they should be competing with humans,” she continued. “It’s basically like having Olympics and then you’re having robots compete with humans. Well, who’s gonna throw further? Oh, I wonder.”

“I’m down with it, and I think it’s a very interesting thing, and what we’re gonna do with it is gonna be fun. But I do not think they should be competing,” Clarkson concluded.

Before that, she had this to say after Yang talked about locking his phone in a timed lock box to cut down on screen time, Clarkson replied, “I am so good at not being on my phone, except if it’s for my lover, ChatGPT.”

It’s somewhat of a change in tune for Clarkson, this after just last month where she said AI didn’t have a soul. Did a cheque clear or was she always this pro-AI? Who can never be sure.
