Dylan Efron is preparing to run the marathon
The 34-year-old TV star competed on Dancing with the Stars, the long-running TV dance competition, in 2025, but this year, Dylan is focused on an entirely different challenge.
Dylan – who will run the New York City marathon in November – told Extra: “I got an invite, so I’m like, ‘Why not?’ I have all this energy and last year, I got to burn it on dancing. I’m like, ‘Let’s sign up for things.’ I just did a triathlon last week. It was spur of the moment.”
Dylan has been doing lots of running and cycling in preparation for the challenge.
The TV star – who is the younger brother of Hollywood actor Zac Efron – said: “For me, I get my actual road bike on a stationary bike. And I think that’s the one thing I’ve done consistently for 10 years that keeps me lean. So I’ll hop on my bike, watch Netflix, watch Dancing with the Stars, low heart rate 130. I’ll just lock in and enjoy watching the show.
“A lot of these workout classes … they push you so hard that you don’t want to go on a run again … I think it’s all about doing very low, consistent, something you can do every day.”
Dylan also opened up about his love life, explaining why long-time girlfriend Courtney King prefers to be low-key.
Dylan – who starred in the music video of Wish I Didn’t for country singer Megan Moroney – shared: “Courtney is a huge part of my life, but she doesn’t really have social media.
“She doesn’t even really use Instagram, so it’s one of those things where for a long time, she didn’t want to be posted … I don’t know, it just works. It’s almost like my life balance. I would be nervous if we were posting every day together and, like, I feel like there’s gonna be hostility. I like keeping a work/life balance, if that makes sense.”
