“Hey Director @hereisgina Day 1 🥊,” Baldoni, 42, wrote via Instagram on Monday, September 14, alongside a video featuring the actor and Rodriguez, 42, hugging on set. “God is good.”

Deadline confirmed that Baldoni has signed on to produce Rodriguez’s theatrical directorial debut boxing film, House of Guerrero. Baldoni and partner Andrew Calof will be producing the project through Wayfarer Studios, while Rodriguez is directing and also serving as a producer.

Based on an original story by Rodriguez and screenwriter Bernardo Cubría, House of Guerrero follows “a young fighter whose promising boxing career is cut short before he gets one last shot at stepping back into the ring and fighting for the life he thought he’d lost forever.”

Rodriguez and Baldoni remained close friends in the wake of the series’ five-year run. The actress publicly stood by Baldoni after Blake Lively sued the director in December 2024, accusing her It Ends With Us costar of sexual harassment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her.

Baldoni vehemently denied the allegations and subsequently countersued Lively. His lawsuit was dismissed by a judge in June 2025. Lively and Baldoni ultimately reached a settlement out of court in May.

Amid the drama, Justin and his wife Emily Baldoni made a rare statement.

Justin Baldoni’s working relationships with his Hollywood colleagues have been under a microscope after Blake Lively accused him of misconduct on the set of 2024’s It Ends With Us. Lively sued Baldoni for sexual harassment in December 2024, claiming that he caused her “severe emotional distress” and fostered a “hostile work environment” while they costarred […]

“We have not done this in a while, so we have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years and it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say,” Justin began in a July Instagram video. “Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this where we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just doesn’t feel like the right time. We were talking about it and feeling into it and praying about it.”

Justin went on to acknowledge the many “painful things” that were “spoken into existence” as a result of his lengthy legal battle with Lively.

“That created so much noise and we didn’t want to add to the noise,” he explained of why the couple stayed quiet. “We just wanted to let the justice system run its course.”

Justin noted that he and Emily were “healing,” adding, “If you’ve ever been through something traumatic, you know that healing isn’t linear. It looks different every day, and we have had to rethink for ourselves what is real and what matters and it’s this, it’s our family, it’s our friends, it’s our community [who] have been there for us, it’s our faith.”

He continued, “I think we’re closer and more devoted and steadfast in our faith than we’ve ever been. Also, and this has been on both of our hearts, there were so many of you who, when we didn’t have a voice, were our voice. … So many of you had discernment and you used your intuition and you trusted that, and you have given your time to fight for us. Thank you does not feel like enough, but we’re here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family.”

In the comments section, Rodriguez, 41, replied: “♥️ love you friends. Por vida.” Fellow Jane the Virgin alum Brett Dier also voiced his appreciation for the couple, adding: “I love you guys ❤️❤️.”
