Macklemore opened for Ed Sheeran on Friday night in New Jersey at MetLife Stadium. During his set the rapper sang “Free Palestine” before launching into a speech, telling the audience he wanted people in Gaza and the occupied West Bank to know they had not been forgotten.
He called ICE a “terrorist organization” and shouted “Free Palestine, free Cuba, Congo, Sudan and Iran.”
In response, the Israeli-American Council (IAC), launched a petition, calling for Macklemore’s removal for the remaining tour dates.
P!nk also got involved, re-sharing a screenshot on her Instagram Stories and a caption from stop_antisemitism that demanded refunds for concertgoers.
