The first teaser trailer for La Bola Negra has been released!
On Wednesday (September 2), Netflix debuted the teaser for the upcoming acclaimed movie, which translates to The Black Ball in English.
What is La Bola Negra about?
La Bola Negra was directed, co-written and produced by the Spanish duo Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi (popularly known as Los Javis). They won the Best Director award at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival and the film was nominated for the Palme d’Or.
A bold tapestry spanning nearly a century of Spanish history, La Bola Negra tells the story of three generations of men whose lives are intimately connected through desire, pain, and love. The film takes place in three different eras – 1932, 1937, and 2017.
Who stars in the movie?
Spanish music sensation Guitarricadelafuente makes his acting debut in the film alongside Elite star Miguel Bernardeau. The ensemble cast also includes Penélope Cruz, Carlos González, Milo Quifes, Lola Dueñas, Julio Torres, and Glenn Close.
