A federal judge has thrown out what remained of a complaint filed by tour member Asha Daniels against Grammy-winning singer Lizzo‘s Big Grrrl Big Touring company today, September 1st.
Daniels sued the singer and her touring company for alleged sexual and racial harassment following her tenure in Lizzo’s 2023 “The Special Tour”. The claims against Lizzo herself were dismissed in 2024.
Lizzo’s lawyer, Melissa Glass, spoke after the ruling was announced: “The court’s ruling today granting summary judgment is a total victory for Lizzo, her touring company, and the other defendants named in Asha Daniels’ ludicrous lawsuit … There was never any basis for Ms. Daniels to sue Lizzo, her touring company, her tour manager, or her wardrobe manager.”
