They were formed in April of 2011 and made their debut on December 28th of the same year.
At their peak during 2013-15, they were said to be rivals with AKB48 and its sister groups. In this post, we’ll go over their releases over the years, as well as songs from the individual girl groups involved.

Dream
Dream’s history is as long as EXILE’s. Back in 1999 when they made thier debut, the original members were Mai Matsumuro, Kana Tachibana, and Yu Hasebe. Some of you might recognise them from Hikaru no Go’s OP theme Get Over.
After that the group was shuffled, a lot; new members were added, some left and others stayed. When Dream finally joined LDH in 2009, there were 6 members: Aya, Shizuka, Erie, Ami, Sayaka and Kana. They made their re-debut with Perfect Girls.

HappinessThe superior f5ve. Originally formed & debut back in 2009, then major debut in 2011. There were 7 members: Sayaka, Kaede, Karen (vocalist), Miyuu, Mimu, Mayu (vocalist), and Yurino. Their music is more on the upbeat side, with a fresh and youthful feel. They follow EXILE’s vocalist-performer format with 2 vocalists and 5 performers.

My personal fave. It’s such a fun and cute song.
Flower
Flower was debut as 4-member dance group in 2009; consisted of Elina Mizuno, Shuuka Fujii, Manami Shigetome, and Mio Nakajima. After the Vocal Battle Audition 3 in 2011, they added 5 more members; Chiharu Muto (vocalist), Reina Washio (vocalist), Kyoka Ichiki, Harumi Sato, and Nozomi Bando. With the line-up as 9 members, they later debuted with Still in the same year (which makes this year their 15th anniv as well).
Similarly they also had 2 vocalists with 7 dancers format, however later on in their career Kyoka started singing making it 3 vocalists. After Chiharu left in 2014, we somehow ended up with Flower becoming Reina and her girls. Compared to other groups, Flower’s music is more on the melancholic side. They also did a collab song with Little Mix called Dreamin’ Together.

Other sub-units:
ShuuKaRen: consisted of Fujii sisters Shuuka (of Flower) and Karen (of Happiness). This year would make their 10th anniversary debut.

Sudannayuzuyully: consisted of Yurino Suzuki, Anna Suda, and Yuzuna Takebe.
TEN MADE TOBASO

There was another group called Twin Tower which consisted of Kaede (Happiness) and Harumi (Flower), though they didn’t release any music. And there were actually two groups which had been under E-girls, but never got to debut: Bunnies and Rabbits. LDH probably just didn’t know how to deal with them them (they’re extremely bad at managing their girl groups).

When I wrote this, I was hoping they might do something special for their anniversary. But seeing there’s only 4 months left this year (and Japanese labels usually announce everything beforehand like half a year)… I’m not really positive. :'( E-girls fans on ONTD, what’s your fave songs?
