One of the big mysteries from Spider-Man: Brand New Day was the question of who does Sadie Sink play in the movie.
Well, if you saw the movie, you’ll know that all the fan theories are true: Sadie portrayed Jean Grey in the film.

What happens to Sara Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
We got to learn a little bit about the backstory regarding Jean Grey towards the end of the movie, including her motivation for breaking inside the Department of Damage Control to find “V-Max.”
It turns out, the whole time, Jean was looking for her older sister Sara.
In a flashback scene, we meet Sara Grey and learn that she was kidnapped by Bill Metzger’s team, who conducted experiments on her mind-control abilities. Jean witnessed Sara’s kidnapping, but Sara used her powers to prevent Jean from rescuing her by controlling her mind in the moment and keeping her away.
Thus, it became Jean’s mission to save her sister.
However, as the film moves forward, we learn that Sara died in Metzger’s custody. They planned to do similar experiments on Jean too, but her powers proved to be too much for their testing.

Who plays Sara Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?
A young actress named Olivia Booth-Ford was cast as Sara Grey opposite Sadie Sink. We only see her in the one flashback scene, where she is abducted.
She was born in London, England. Olivia’s previous credits include the scripted anthology series Do Not Disturb, the Film4 short film Joy, Apple TV+’s The Enfield Poltergeist, and Waterloo Road, where she played Leoni Tennant.

A fun fact about the age gap between Sadie Sink and Olivia Booth-Ford
Fans quickly discovered that Sadie Sink is actually older than Olivia Booth-Ford, which is interesting given that Sara Grey is older than Jean Grey.
Olivia just turned 16 years old on July 3, and Sadie turned 24 years old in April. Presumably, they may have shot this scene last year, making them possibly a whole year younger when the scene took place.
The Marvel comics never specify the characters’ exact ages or their age gap, but it is presumed that there are a few years between them.
