Hayden Panettiere and Tori Spelling both pulled out of a horror convention at the weekend due to “emergencies”.
Hayden Panettiere pulled out of her appearance at Creep I.E. Aftermath
The two actresses were both due to appear at the Creep I.E. Aftermath event in California on 11 and 12 July, but had to withdraw for undisclosed reasons.
Creep I.E. Con first announced Heroes and Scream 4 star Hayden would no longer appear.
They wrote on Instagram: “Hayden Panettiere has an emergency and will not be able to attend this weekend. We are looking forward to her appearing at an upcoming show.”
A spokesperson for the 36-year-old star then told People magazine she had withdrawn from the event “due to a private family matter concerning the health of an elderly relative.”
She was later replaced by Face/Off actress Dominique Swain.
Meanwhile, organisers issued a similar statement after Scary Movie star Tori, 53, pulled out.
They wrote on Instagram: “Tori Spelling has an emergency and can no longer attend. New replacement guest announced later today.”
Her Beverly Hills 90210 co-star Brian Austin Green was later announced as her replacement.
Celebrities who were due to appear at Creep I.E. Aftermath included Jamie Campbell Bower, tara Reid, Christopher Lloyd, Mira Sorvino and Fiona Dourif. However, according to E! News, the likes of Christina Ricci, John Carroll Lynch, Carel Struycken, Jimmy Workman and Kevin Durand all either cancelled or rescheduled their appearances at the Ontario Convention Center.
Meanwhile, Hayden – who has 11-year-old daughter Kaya with former fiance Wladimir Klitschko – recently spoke of how she has made a conscious decision to surround herself with “positive people” to help her move forward.
The blonde beauty – who wants to write and produce, and release her own jewellery line – told The Independent: “I know that if I surround myself with positive people, I can accomplish whatever I set my mind to.
“I’ve made my share of mistakes, I’ve fallen on my face, but I’ve always stood up again and dusted myself off.”
The Heroes actress has battled addiction and family problems during her time in the spotlight but has never struggled to find a purpose in life.
She reflected: “I’ve got plenty of issues, but finding meaning in life isn’t one of them.”
