Alien: Earth Season 2 is on the way.
Production on a sophomore season of the hit FX series has officially kicked off in London, England, and at least three new stars have joined the cast, according to Variety, following the previous announcement that another major TV star had signed on for the new season.
Timothy Olyphant also recently teased what fans can expect from the new season.
“Here’s what I can tell you — s–t’s gonna get weird. I’ve read the first six [episodes], and they’re really, really, really good. It’s just the best of Noah Hawley. Surprising, wonderful characters, rich world. I feel like it’s just matured into a really dynamic story — relevant and urgent and funny and f–ked up,” he recently told Empire.
Here’s a synopsis of the show’s first season:
In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named ‘Wendy’ (Sydney Chandler) marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, Wendy and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.
A release date has not yet been set for the second season.
