The Secret Lives of Mormon WivesWhitney Leavitt has thoughts on Taylor Frankie Paul calling herself the creator of MomTok.

“How it feels being ‘creator’ of MomTok & SLOMW,” Whitney, 33, wrote over a Wednesday, July 8, Instagram video of her lip syncing the viral audio, “I didn’t have a pen and paper. I got to the mic and I’m like, ‘Oh, press record. Ah, ah, ah.’”

At the end of the clip, Whitney lowered her sunglasses to wink at the camera. “It’s not founding mother…it’s founding motherSSSSS 😉,” Whitney captioned the post.

The video appeared to be a response to Taylor, 32, changing her Instagram bio to read, “Creator of Momtok + SLOMW 🩵 The Bachelorette 🌹Jesus is king🤍.”

MomTok was launched in 2020 by a group of Mormon women — including Whitney and Taylor — who create content about their young families. The group entered the spotlight when Taylor claimed to be involved in a “soft-swinging” scandal with ex-husband Tate Paul and other individuals.

The scandal then landed Taylor and the crew of MomTokers a gig with Mormon Wives, which premiered in 2024. Viewers were then introduced to Taylor and then-partner Dakota Mortensen, Whitney and husband Conner Leavitt, Jen Affleck and husband Zac Affleck, Demi Engemann and husband Bret Engemann, Mikayla Matthews and husband Jace Terry, Mayci Neeley and husband Jacob Neeley, Jessi Draper and now-estranged husband Jordan Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor. Miranda McWhorter joined the cast for season 2 after splitting from Chase McWhorter.

In March, news broke that Taylor and Dakota were involved in an alleged domestic incident and season 5 of Mormon Wives halted production. After an investigation, local authorities declined to bring charges against Taylor. Us Weekly confirmed in April that Hulu had resumed production on season 5.

Whitney, for her part, announced in May that she would be exiting the show — but would still be a part of season 5 before officially leaving.

Whitney Leavitt is breaking her silence in the wake of fellow The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives cast member Taylor Frankie Paul’s most recent domestic dispute. “I have a lot of emotions about it and I’m still processing everything that’s happening, but the safety of human beings, especially children, comes first,” Whitney told Interview Magazine […]

“Just to be very clear, I am finishing season 5. So yes, I will be in that season. But also yes, it will be my last,” Leavitt said, in part, in an Instagram video at the time. “It’s honestly so crazy to me looking back on this journey because I had been trying to get into theater and film way before Secret Lives even came into my life.”

Taylor, meanwhile, is reportedly not 100 percent confirmed yet. A source told Us that “the producers and cast have welcomed” her “to return to this year’s filming,” adding, “It is still unclear whether she will come back this year, but she is expected to be back in the future.”

Hulu has yet to announce a premiere date for Mormon Wives season 5.
