Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is such a big hit in New York City right now that the show will continue running through Fall 2026, so it’s time to learn more about the lead stars.
Jay Armstrong Johnson and Jimin Moon star as Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander in the musical parody version of the hit HBO Max series.
The show was originally scheduled to run for just 8 weeks, but popular demand has led to two extensions. It is now scheduled to run through November 1.
Inspired by the hit show about hockey, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody follows “starry-eyed golden boy Shane Hollander on his journey from power center to power bottom.”
Relive all of the moments from the show that made you wet (with tears) up close on the small-stage by an incredible cast of Broadway actors who thought they were auditioning to be in Season 2. Sporting a bop-infused score, scene-stealing cameos by characters like “Rose Landry” and “Ilya’s Ass”, and time jumps absolutely no one can keep track of, audiences will find themselves hot, bothered, and probably saying, “….Girl!”

Jay Armstrong Johnson made his Broadway debut in 2010 in the revival of Hair and he has also starred in the Broadway shows Catch Me If You Can, Hands on a Hardbody, On The Town, The Phantom of the Opera, and Parade. Most recently, he toured the country as Christian in Moulin Rouge. You might also know him from his recurring role on ABC’s Quantico.
