Minions & Monsters debuted this holiday weekend to lower than projected, with $64.5 million since it opened on Wednesday and $36 million over the traditional weekend. This is the lowest opening for the franchise, including the original Despicable Me‘s $56 million in 2010. Internationally it fared better, bringing in $86 million over the weekend and $98 million so far.

Meanwhile, Toy Story 5 made $31 million over the weekend in its fifth weekend of release. It has already made $366 million domestic and $764 million worldwide.

Young Washington came in third at the box office, pulling in $20.6 million and receiving an “A” grade on CinemaScore.

Alas, poor Supergirl did not fare well in its second weekend of release after a disastrous opening weekend, falling 74% and bringing in just $9.6 million dollars. Since its release, it has made only $58.5 million in North America and $100.5 million worldwide.

In fifth place was Disclosure Day with $6 million.

On the indie side, The Invite cracked the top 10 with an $800,000 haul from 10 theaters. It opens wide next weekend.
