Janelle Pierzina seemingly has other obligations this summer instead of returning to the Big Brother house for season 28.
“No, I’m not doing #BB28,” the four-time player, 46, wrote via X on Thursday, June 25. “Between selling houses, running Airbnbs, raising three kids, and pretending I know what day it is, I don’t have time to be locked in a house for 100 days. You guys can fight over slop without me. 😂.”
However, Janelle did raise eyebrows when she mentioned a vacation in a destination Big Brother fans know all too well.
“Besides, I’m going to Greece this summer! 🇬🇷,” she quipped.
Back in 2012, Janelle told fans she was going to Greece for an extended summer vacation. Weeks later, it was revealed that Janelle actually returned for Big Brother 14. The joke has since become an ongoing bit in the Big Brother fandom.
“Janie said Greece!!! I cannnnnnt 😂😂😂😂😂,” one fan reacted to Janelle’s mention of Greece while an unbeliever quipped, “Yeah, yeah whatever girl. Get ready for sequester this week.”
Other fans took Janelle’s message about not returning for the new season to heart.
“Your commentary will be missed. Have a great trip be safe & head on a swivel,” one user wrote while another joked that “Janelle wants to stay home in order to find out who wins Love Island USA.”
Big Brother 28 is nearly two weeks away with the competition show premiering on Wednesday, July 9. Details about the theme and the cast have yet to be officially announced.
Fans have been speculating if there will be returning players this season following the success of former winner Rachel Reilly’s unexpected return last season. Rachel, 41, appeared on three seasons of the hit show, making her debut in season 12 back in 2010. Janelle is not the only player shutting down rumors of a return. Fellow legend Danielle Reyes also posted a video sharing that she was not playing Big Brother this summer.

“Quick update, I just want to share first and foremost, I’m working. I’m not doing Big Brother 28,” Danielle, 54, said in a video shared via X on Tuesday, June 24. “I know, I know. I appreciate you guys hoping but I haven’t been contacted by the producers. I am excited that this season is going to be the 1,000th episode of Big Brother. How exciting is that? And I haven’t been invited to do anything for this. So you guys more than likely won’t see me.”
In the clip, Danielle can be seen wearing her Big Brother All Stars hat, which was the last time she competed in the game. However, Danielle threw fans for a loop with a seemingly cryptic message at the end.
“And fans, you guys know I would never lie about something like this,” the Traitors alum said in a different tone as she smiled directly into the camera.
