A 21-year-old man named Beran A is going to prison after plotting a terrorist attack at a Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert in Vienna, Austria.
The man admitted to plotting a jihadist attack at the show, which was scheduled to take place back in August of 2024.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, according to the BBC.
Prosecutors claim that the young man became radicalized and sore allegiance to Islamic State (IS), and attempted to buy weapons illegally. A court psychiatrist said he showed no signs of mental illness, and there was “no psychiatric explanation” for the radicalization.
His name was not fully disclosed due to Austrian privacy laws, the outlet also notes.
Beran A also admitted to “other terrorism-related offences, including an attack in Mecca,” and apologized to the court on Thursday (May 28).

In a statement afterward, she broke her silence on the scary situation. She also seemingly alluded to the reason that she hasn’t addressed politics recently despite Donald Trump using an AI-generated photo to imply that she endorsed him and rumors that she would appear at the Democratic National Convention.
