Selena Gomez heaps huge praise on Demi Lovato for ‘one of the best shows’

The 33-year-old singer and actress got emotional at the opening of Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep Tour at the Kia Center in Orlando, Florida, on Monday (13.04.26), and afterwards she took to Instagram to praise her pal’s gig as “one of the best shows”.

Alongside a black-and-white picture of Demi having some lipstick applied during her concert, Selena wrote on her Instagram Story: “I am in tears.

“@ddlovato – this was hands down one of the best shows. Oh and the VOCALS? Psh *blown away. (sic)”

Demi was grateful for Selena’s support.

She wrote on her Instagram Story: “Thank you so much for coming!!! Loved seeing you.”

The pair have been friends for years after starting out their careers on the Disney Channel, but they previously drifted apart.

In April 2020, Demi admitted she was no longer in touch with the Jonas Brothers, and said she wasn’t “friends” with Selena.

Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar magazine at the time, she explained: “When you grow up with somebody, you’re always going to have love for them.

“But I’m not friends with her, so [her Instagram Story post] felt…”

“I will always have love for her, and I wish everybody nothing but the best.”

Demi’s comment came after Selena praised her 2020 Grammy Awards performance of Anyone.

Selena wrote in January that year: “I wish there were words to describe how beautiful, inspirational and DESERVED this moment was. Demi I’m so happy for you. Thank you for your courage and bravery. (sic)”

Demi is also back in touch with her ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, after he performed on stage alongside her on Monday night.

The pair sang a duet of her tune On the Line, a collaboration with the Jonas Brothers from her 2008 album Don’t Forget.

Last year, Demi made a surprise appearance at her Camp Rock co-stars’ show in New Jersey, and admitted it was “really healing” to perform with Joe and his brothers, Nick and Kevin Jonas.
