These actors are each attached to projects that promise different genres, tones, and release windows. Here are some of the most anticipated movies that they are starring in.

    Margaret Qualley: Mystery, noir, horror

Margaret Qualley has two major films in 2025 that show how versatile she is.

One is Blue Moon, directed by Richard Linklater. Qualley plays a role alongside Ethan Hawke, Bobby Cannavale, and Andrew Scott.

The film mixes comedy and drama and follows songwriter Lorenz Hart as he reflects on his life when a new musical by his colleague opens.

Blue Moon premiered earlier in the year at the Berlin International Film Festival and is slated for a limited US release on October 17, expanding wide on October 24.

Another project is Honey Don’t!, a neo-noir dark comedy detective film by Ethan Coen and Tricia Cooke.

Qualley plays a private detective investigating deaths tied to a church. The film also stars Chris Evans and Aubrey Plaza. It was released in theatres on August 22, 2025.

    Channing Tatum: Crime, true-story drama

Channing Tatum’s most anticipated film in 2025 is Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance.

In this true crime comedy-drama, he plays Jeffrey Manchester, a former Army Reserve officer who, after falling on hard times, commits a series of robberies at McDonald’s locations, entering via roofs.

The plot follows his attempt to escape his criminal past while hiding in a toy store and finding a chance at redemption.

Kirsten Dunst co-stars, and the film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in early September 2025.

Its US release is scheduled for October 10, 2025, under Paramount and Miramax.

Paul Mescal: Literary drama, emotional weight

Paul Mescal has a strong entry with Hamnet, directed by Chloe Zhao.

Based on Maggie O’Farrell’s novel, it follows William and Agnes Shakespeare, and the grief their family experiences after their son Hamnet dies. Mescal stars as William.

The film premiered at Telluride in 2025. It will have a limited US theatrical release on November 27, then expand wide on December 12, before being released in the UK in early 2026.

He is also in The History of Sound, a period romance-drama set in 1917 about two music students who bond over folk music and the disruptions caused by war. Mescal plays one of the leads.

The film has generated positive attention for its emotional themes since coming out on September 12.
