The Golden Bachelor’s post-show romance rumors are keeping the spotlight on Gerry Turner.
During the Wednesday, August 20, episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts brought up Gerry’s rumored relationship with Christina Kempton while chatting with Theresa Nist.
“Theresa, I think you know, Gerry dated Christina from our show for a while after…” Kathy said.
While Theresa, 72, admitted she “now” knew the information, she claimed she was “actually the one who suggested he go out with Christina,” adding that the relationship happened “a while ago.”
Kathy went on to share that the two dated for “like, six months.” When Theresa reacted with surprise, Kathy doubled down. “So did Susan, so did I. So we’re all on the same page,” she said. “They went out for, like, six months.” Theresa responded, “I didn’t know that.”
On top of that, Kathy also claimed that Christina got an early look at Gerry’s upcoming memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV, which hits shelves in November. “And I said, ‘He better have said nice things about all of us,’” she quipped.
For longtime viewers, it’s a tangled web of Golden Bachelor history. Christina was eliminated in week three of the show, while Susan and Kathy left just before hometowns. Theresa, of course, made it all the way to the finale, where Gerry proposed and the pair married in early 2024.
But three months after tying the knot, Gerry and Theresa announced their divorce. By June, it was confirmed they had signed a marital settlement agreement, officially closing that chapter.
Since then, Gerry has gone public with his new girlfriend, Lana Sutton. “I can’t believe how many people in Charleston recognized us and wished us the best,” Gerry captioned photos of the pair on Instagram after sharing the news with TMZ.
To his credit, Gerry told Theresa about his relationship before it made headlines. “He said, ‘I just wanna let you know I met someone.’ I said, ‘That’s wonderful. I’m so happy for you.’ He goes, ‘I was afraid to tell you.’ ‘Why would you be afraid? I only want your happiness,’” Theresa told Us Weekly in April 2025. “Like, if this was the way it happened for him to find his person to go on the show, get married, and then find his person this way, then it was meant to be.”
As for Theresa, she’s still looking for love on her own timeline. “Nothing is solidified yet. I’m keeping my options open,” she added. “I want to take my time. I don’t want to rush into anything.”
