1998: The original Blade movie was enough of a hit for 2 sequels. Without it, the MCU as we know it may not have existed, but we don’t hold that against him.
July 2019: Feige announces that their in development Blade reboot will star two-time (TWO TIME!) Oscar winner Mahershala Ali.
Everything is chronological but without exact dates to keep it streamlined.
2021:
- Bassam Tariq (“Mogul Mowgli”) is hired to direct.
- Ali also gives voice to Blade in “Eternals“, something I literally did not know until right now.
- Delroy Lindo joins the cast for a role.
2022:
- Aaron Pierre joins
- the movie receives it’s first release date of Nov. 3 2023.
- Tariq leaves 2 months before it was set to film
- The release date is pushed to Sep. 6th 2024. Will it make it?lmao no.
- Yann Demange joins as director.
2023:
- “We’re gonna get this shit going, guys” – Feige, probably, as he hopes the movie will start production in “10 weeks or so”. This was Feb. 14th 2023.
- Mia Goth joins.
- Pre-production stops because of the strike.
- The release date is pushed from Sept. 6th 2024 to Feb 14th 2025 and THEN to Nov. 7th 2025.
